In August 2024, The Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, granted Andoya Spaceport their Launch Site Operator license. As a Launch Site Operator Andoya Spaceport has the overall responsibility for developing, operating and ensuring safe operations at the spaceport. Andoya Spaceport has a strategic location, with easy access from land, air and sea. We are more than just a launch site – we’re aiming to launch the future of space missions.

As the global space industry accelerates and global demand for launch capabilities surge, we aim to offer several launch concepts, from vertical and horizontal, to mobile and sea launches. Whether it’s a long-term constellation deployment or a rapid-response mission, our dedicated team will accommodate for the optimal launch operators to provide premium launch services. Our full operating capability will host multiple launch pads and can support a variety of operators, ensuring readiness for multiple missions simultaneously.

Technology Safeguards Agreement between Norway & the U.S

In January 2025, a Technology Safeguards Agreement (TSA) was signed between Norway and the U.S.

Three Norwegian ministers; those of Trade, Foreign Affairs and Defence, are hereby confirming the importance and the priority this agreement holds for making Andøya Spaceport one of the world’s most preferred launch sites. This is important for Norway as a leading space nation in the Arctic, and for strengthening our relationships with U.S. and allies in NATO.

We are excited to welcome the worlds most advanced launch vehicles and largest satellite market to Norway.

Industry Partnership

Isar Aerospace is the first signed launch operator of Andøya Spaceport. The final preperations of the their launch vehicle Spectrum, is now in work.

Isar Aerospace develops, builds and operates launch vehicles for transporting small and medium-sized satellites as well as satellite constellations into earth’s orbit. Their launch vehicle Spectrum is a two-stage launch vehicle, specifically designed for satellite constellation deployment. With payload capabilities of up to 1,000kg to low-earth orbit and a multi-ignition second stage engine enable flexible access to space for satellite systems. Isar Aerospace covers the entire value chain in-house and within Europe – from design software and design know-how to production and test facilities.
