The registration deadline is approaching for the 27th edition of the ESA Symposium on “European Rocket & Balloon Programmes and Related Research.”
It is one of the most important international meeting arenas for space and atmospheric research, bringing together researchers, engineers, and industry representatives from Europe, the United States, and Asia in Trondheim. If you wish to attend, be sure to secure your place by May 17th.
The symposium is recognized as a leading platform for exchanging knowledge and experience in the fields of sounding rockets, balloons, and ground-based scientific instrumentation, tools that play a crucial role in the development of future space and atmospheric research.
“This is a unique opportunity to gain professional insight, build networks, and establish new collaborations across borders and disciplines,” says Kolbjørn Blix, Vice President Sub-Orbital at Andøya Space.
Norway and Andøya Space as hosts
This year, Norway and Andøya Space are hosting the event. Since the beginning, in 1973, the symposium has been a key meeting place for professionals working with rocket- and balloon-based research.
“We are proud to welcome the international community to Norway. Andøya Space has extensive experience facilitating advanced space and research activities, and we aim to deliver a world-class event,” says Charlotte Bjørkmo, Project Manager for the symposium at Andøya Space.
The symposium will take place in Trondheim from May 31st to June 4th, a city known for its strong research and technology environment, with close ties to institutions such as NTNU and SINTEF.
Knowledge sharing and social meeting place
The program features parallel sessions with presentations from leading experts in the field. In addition, social events and networking opportunities will provide an informal setting for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
“The symposium is not only about professional content, but also about creating connections that can lead to future projects and innovation,” says Blix.
There will also be a dedicated exhibition area where companies within space industry and technology providers present their solutions.
Register now
Registration is open, but the deadline is approaching. To participate, you must sign up by May 17th.
The symposium has its own website with information about the program, registration, and practical details.
“We hope to see both new and returning participants in Trondheim. This will be an important meeting place for everyone interested in developments in space and atmospheric research,” Blix concludes.
