RMR Lidar

The RMR lidar is part of the ALOMAR facility at Andøya (69°N, 16°E) in Northern Norway, and is a joint effort of 4 European partners:

Leibniz-Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP Kühlungsborn, Germany)
Institute of Physics of the Bonn University (Bonn, Germany)
Service d’ Aeronomie du C.N.R.S (Verrieres le Buisson, France)
Hovemere Ltd. (Keston, UK)

The abbreviation RMR refers to the atmospheric scattering mechanisms used for the signal detection, which are Rayleigh, Mie, and Raman scattering. The lidar is located in the ALOMAR observatory, which embodies many special features for this instrument and which is an entirely Norwegian effort led by the Andøya Space Center (Andenes, Norway)
